Freelancing

The word freelance may sound alien to a large chunk of "teenagers" but trust me,freelancing offers real good chances of financial independence.Etymologically freelance(free-lance) means a knight who can be hired by King of any kingdom i.e.,the knight is free to work under any king who pays him for his services. In vogue, freelancing actually implies self-employment.Freelancing is having a career without having a job, having many 'employers' without actually being employed i.e.,a freelancer is not employed continuously but is hired for specified assignments.Freelancing, now prevails virtually in every sphere of influence, activity, interest and study. For instance:
-freelance photography
-freelance journalism
-freelance event planning and management
-freelance writing,poetry and translation
-freelance editing and proof-reading
-freelance web design and development
-freelance acting and film making

are some of the well known freelancing fields.
In general all you need to have to be a freelancer is clarity about your interests.
#If you're a crackerjack in descriptional writing, and fully into using all the idiosyncratic metaphors then try freelancing your mastery.
#If you're a wizard of ABCs and master of fundamental elements of linguistics then proof-reading and editing can be your timewhiling job.
#If you know the ropes of music or if you're adroit with an instrument then you might kickstart your career by freelancing for shortfilm developers or filmmakers.
#If webpage designing, development and programming is your passion then try using your skill to aid people in need.
Besides making money, freelancing has numerous other interesting benefits.Freelancing helps you to get the knack of things.I mean in the trial for getting the assigned project done, you gain insights into the realtime implementation of things.Once you start freelancing on regular systematic basis, you'll find yourself getting introduced to new people, new working culture(if you're freelancing in a group),new attitudes.Freelancing further helps in increasing your social circle and enhance your time managing capabilties. From a recent study, most of the regular freelancers are found to have a highly systematic and organised social lives. That's no wonder to know that freelancers comprises of more than 7% of US workforce(as per 2005 statistics). Some other notable advantages of freelancing for teenagers include:
!you are your own boss
!choice of work
!flexible timings
Moreover most companies also pay just for referring others which means you can earn by your networking skills apart from your personal efforts.
So,it's now time for the teenagers to jack up their standards and show the world that we are no more the under thumb kids of the past. The idea is all about fostering and nurturing your innate skills and being the go-getters.Let's know what we have, let's activate our action.Let's do what we can.Let's freelance!!

  4. Freelancing however cannot be a full time job. You can do free lancing when you need to buy time to plan things out in your life - like a startup or choice of a future career etc. etc. For in life we need a future distant goal towards which we struggle to inch closer every day.
For me entrepreneurship offers more thrill than freelancing.
