Unengineered!

Are you aspiring to become an engineer??
Then,do check yourself again!you might regret your choice!!
Believe it or not,
#90% of MBA students are from engineering background.

#Majority of the engineering undergraduates end up in a job which is completely irrelevant to the course in which they were engineered.

#The minority of experts top their positions in their respective streams while the rest are just left behind and often found to be working under the same professionals/experts.

Engineering has now become a default stream, for people who are in a confused state of mind, not knowing what to do with their life take up engineering and end up taking an IT job or some other JUST-FOR-MONEY jobs.Taking a look at engineering institutions, they too were becoming equally eccentric, letting down the principles of engineering, they started commercializing.

Is this supposed to be happening??

Well if you probe into the scenario, the major factors for this behaviour are:

#Students lacking clarity of their own field of interest.By the time they reach under graduate study they don't surely know what kickstarts their life.

#Parents compelling their they-are-capable-of-decision making-children to choose course of their choice instead of the student's choice. This is due to erratic misconceptions that one course is superior to the other(for instance, they think electronics is superior to computing and compel the student to take up electronics although the student is into computing).

#Students taking up some inky-pinky-ponky branch in engineering and end up regretting their choice.
How can we expect every under graduate to be a professional if this is the case?
Let's see how we can control this from going to break-down condition..
First, this is a problem wherein student holds the sole responsibility.

#Students ought to find which FIELD  makes them intoxicated!!they ought to know what drives them crazy!they have to know their dreams, for now it's time for them to live what they have dreamt.

#Students ought to know that there are courses/streams other than engineering.Explore them!Find the passion within you...If you dare enough, create a new path, believe in your dreams, live your passion.one day you might find yourself alone...do not worry, for the world is all behind, following you!

#And parents gotta help their children giving them the support and flexibility in terms of decision making.Afterall it is the student's attitude that defines the parent's status.
Engineering is not supposed to be a default stream. It is a school where professionals who design the world around us and make it a better place to live, are made!Let's respect it.So,if you're not into it,do not go for it and later on do not UNENGINEER yourself!!

  3. Engineering is not a stream or a subject or a degree- Engineering is a philosophy which says you can shape things up the way you want them. Until this engineering philosophy is taught in our colleges - people will continue to find themselves meaninglessly employed.
